Look Closer at Your Building When you walk into a lobby, you see the floors and the windows. If they are shiny, the building looks clean. But germs are very small. They like to hide on the things our hands touch the most.
As we get ready for the 2026 World Cup, we need to make sure these three "hidden" spots stay safe.
1. Door Handles and Push Plates Think about how many people touch the front door in one hour. Every time someone opens the door, they leave behind germs.
-
The Fix: Wipe these down at least three times a day. If it is a very busy day, wipe them every hour!
2. Light Switches and Buttons We touch light switches and elevator buttons without even thinking about it. Because they are small, they are easy to forget when we are mopping or dusting.
-
The Fix: Use a disinfecting wipe on these spots. Make sure the liquid stays on the button for a minute to kill the germs.
3. Countertops and Pens Do people sign in at your front desk? The counter where they lean and the pens they use are germ "hot spots."
-
The Fix: Keep a jar of "Clean Pens" and a jar for "Used Pens." Wipe the counter after a group of people finishes talking there.
Safe Hands, Safe Fans If hands touch it, germs live on it. By cleaning these three spots, you show your visitors that you care about their health.
